                What's Your True Color?
                My Result: Red

                  Take this test!

Your color is red, the color of racy sportscars, blushing cheeks, and luscious roses. Red symbolizes passion, romance, and love. So, since you're ruled by red, you probably trust your feelings more than your brain and tend to act spontaneously.  If you see something you want, you go for it without thinking twice — impulsive is your middle name. You don't wait around for people to make decisions, either; you dive right in. Quite the romantic, you pay close attention to your emotions. In fact, if your heart isn't in what you're doing, you won't be satisfied. Of course, even when you do pour all your energy into the projects you tackle, your impetuous nature means your passions can shift as frequently as the wind. That's why some reds have trouble with commitment. Our advice? Next time you're feeling fickle, think before you act, if possible. You might be surprised at the results. Overall, though, it's great to be red. No one lives life more completely than you do.

  • Goodbye lilniteanngel

Thank you for reading my blog.  I will no longer write here.
I will continue to read yours, though; so keep in touch!

According to xanga, I've been a member since May 10, 2002.
It's been five years since I've started this blog.

    Goodbye, lilniteanngel.  Sleep well.

  • and so we struggle to understand

Sometimes it is hard to reach an understanding with others.  For example, when I say the word "akljshdfjksd," I assume that the other person carries the same definition of that word as I.  Problem is, they probably don't.  Intangibles are complicated and highly subjective.  Chances are, they probably have a different definition of "akljshdfjksd,"or even one that i completely disagree with.

To make things even worse, that's just one word.  What if I had an entire conversation of 10,000 words, based mostly on intangibles?  That's like confusion multiplied by 9,000.

It hurts when I want someone to understand me - but they just don't.  They don't agree because they think differently, value things differently or "see" a different image in their mind.  It's sad to love someone whose definitions and values don't match up with my own.  It is so incredibly hard to reach an understanding, even for those who are in love.  Even if that is what we both seek and desire most, at the core of our heart.

  • hmmm..

    is this true?

  • How to prolong your laptop's battery life

    1. Generally, do not fully discharge your laptop battery (meaning, don't drain the battery all the way).  You don't need to worry about memory-related performance deterioration.

    2.  Don't keep it plugged in and fully charged.

    3.  Recalibrate your battery by fully discharging and recharging it once every 30 cycles.  (Teter says this isn't really necessary. Hmm...)

    4. Keep the battery nice and cool.  Don't store it in your car on a hot, summer day.  If you don't plan to use the battery for awhile, put it in the 'fridge.  (Don't freeze it!)

    5.  Serenade to battery. (Courtesy of Bryan)

    Any other tips?  Teter?  Jelly?

  • Draw, Antonio, draw, Antonio, draw and do not waste time.

"Why do you never find anything written about that idiosyncratic thought
you advert to, about your fascination with something no one else
understands? Because it is up to you. There is something you find
interesting, for a reason hard to explain. It is hard to explain
because you have never read it on any page; there you begin. You were
made and set here to give voice to this, your own astonishment."

    "The writer studies literature, not the world. She lives in the world;
she cannot miss it. If she has ever bought a hamburger, or taken a
commercial airplane flight, she spares her readers a report of her
experience. She is careful of what she reads, for that is what she will
    write.
She is careful of what she learns, because that is what she will
    know."
    [emphasis added.]

"After Michelangelo died, someone found in his studio a piece of paper
on which he had written a note to his apprentice, in the handwriting of
his old age: ''Draw, Antonio, draw, Antonio, draw and do not waste
    time.' "

    - Write till you drop, Anne Dillard
    - One of the most passionate, enthralling articles ever.  Parts of it bring me to tears...

"People love pretty much the same things best. A writer looking for
subjects inquires not after what he loves best, but after what he alone
    loves at all."

    What is your astonishment?
